Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I Consign an animal?
    If you want to pre-consign your animal you may connect us 719-347-2417 and we will advertise they are coming. The week of: Bring your animal in on Sunday from 9:00am - 5:00pm. If you have cattle you will need a Bill of Sale/Proof of Ownership. Monday 8:00 am - 10:30 am for Cattle 8:00 am-12:00 pm for small animals (pigs, sheep & goats)
  • How do I register to bid in person?
    Come to the window inside the barn (next to the Office door) You will need a valid Drivers License or ID to register. Each week you will need to get a new buyers number. The buyers number will be good for both the miscellaneous sale and the livestock sale.
  • How do I register to bid Online?
    Go to CattleUsa.com to register to bid. You must create and account and then Request Approval through Calhan Auction Mkt. Step by Step instructions are under the "Cattle USA" tab above in our FAQ section.
  • What days do you have a sale?
    We have a Sale every Monday: Cattle, Pigs, Sheep, Goats, Chickens, Rabbits, Ducks, Hay & Miscellaneous. First Saturday of the Month: Pigs, Sheep, Goats, Chickens, Rabbits, Ducks, Hay & Miscellaneous.
  • What days do you NOT have a sale?
    We are closed for Major US Holidays: Memorial Day 4th of July Labor Day Christmas New Years
  • Is there a buyers premium?
    Only if you pay by Credit/Debit Card. The fee is 4%.
  • How do I get paid?
    For Miscellaneous - We DO NOT mail these pay outs. Please go to the Miscellaneous window by the office door. There you will get paid for the items you sold. If items did not sell, you will need to clear those items from our property before you will get paid. There will be a fee if you do not clear your items. For Livestock - As soon as your animal has sold through the ring, you may go into the office and pick up your check. If you do not pick up your check the day of the sale we will mail them Tuesday after the sale to the address you gave us when you checked them in. If there is a hold on your animals. You must clear it with the Brand Inspector before we are able to give you your check.
  • When is your next Horse Sale?
    Our next Horse Sale will be Saturday April 27, 2024. To consign your Horse please contact Stephen Heitmann 719-285-3924 or Ralph Lewis 719-648-7098
  • Create a Cattle USA Account
    On the Cattle USA home page click "Log In"
  • Login or Create an Account
    Login or at the bottom click "Create an Account"
  • Request Buyer Approval through Calhan Auction Mkt
    Scroll down to find Calhan Auction Mkt. Click "Buyer Approval" You must request approval for every auction you want to purchase livestock from.
  • Buyer Approval Information
    Please fill out all of the information. Once you click "Submit for Approval" give us a call at 719-347-2417 so we can approve you. We do not get a notice that you submitted your request.
